Smartminds is the dutch DJ and Producer creating melodic and uplifting music in the genres of Progressive House, Electro and Techno. Often with a trance-ish touch. Kristine W – Never

Kristine W is the gorgeous singer from Las Vegas, USA. And as always when it comes to House Music, you just take a hot singer with a good voice, you give her some uplifting vocals and compose some up tempo basslines and funky melodies, and voila – a great tune!

This track, Never, in its 7th Heaven Club Mix,  breeeaths funky disco in a quite 70´s way. It´s quite soft, quite loungey but very harmonic and yet moodful, groovy and sexy.

808s & Heartbreak

The King of Sampling, Kanye West´s new album “808s & Heartbreak” is set to be released in the upcoming days. On some places it might already have been released. And I wish to say that this is one of the most interesting commercial releases of this year. Some people still prefer to label this record as HipHop/RnB, but the artist himself wishes to label it as Pop. But believe me, this is not your ordinary pop album – it still has its touch of Rap and RnB but the more distinguished tones are some quite electronis sounds. And the fact that most of the vocals on the record is actually sung by Kanye West himself and processed through a vocoder, gives this record a sound a lot different from what we are used to hear, especially from a Rap Superstar. And after I have objectively listened to all of the tracks on the record it hits me – this record does actually not contain a single bad track. I would like to say that it is quite obvious that Kanye West has been influenced by the huge electronic wave that has sweeped the whole musical world. After his collaboration with Daft Punk a few years ago I guess some of us could see where this was heading. And I tell you, I would´nt be chocked to find a Kanye West record on the shelves of Electro/House in a near future. And for right now I can asure you that we can look forward to some great remixes of tracks from this album. So I´d like to say: Mr West, welcome to the gnere of electronic music!

Dj Antoine – Underneath

Dj and Producer Dj Antione has been providing us with hits for some years now. His sound is generally funky, melodic and what we could describe as quite commercial. It´s great though. Often with an uplifting chorus. His latest track is no exception. “Underneath” is yet another track with a typical Dj Antoine sound – a sound that might be considered cheesy by the more initiated house lovers, but yet, it is a sound more or less perfect for clubs with a mixed crowd. It could altough be said that this track sounds a little too much as his previous hit “This Time“, which Klaas later on lay his hands on and turned into gold.

So check out these four different mixes. One of them is a mix by Player & Remady, known for great tracks such as “Hype” and “Doggystyle“.

Nightmare Creatures EP

Straight out of Olsztyn, Poland, came two brothers with a passion for electronic music. Together they formed the Anguilla Project. Their success have, until now, been quite modest, but after being signed to Conspiracy Records and with the release of their EP “Nightmare Creatures” this duo will most definitely see some new light.

On this EP the track “Nightmare Creatures” comes in six different mixes. It´s deep, heavy and progressive. And the sound really lives up to the the title of the track – it´s really a thrilling sound. Something even Hitchcock would be scared to listen to.

Freitag izt Frie Time!

Yes in deed! Your´re all gonna get fried tonight – at least you brains and eardrums will!

I have prepared an incredible post for later on. This Friday goes in the sign of freedom! Just as the german word for Friday (Freitag) insinuates.

But that´s later on, cuz this Fridays´s post will be a little delayed since I will celebrate my youngest brothers 18th birthday (which means he can get his drivers license, he´s allowed to drink and visit clubs, gamble and get married, knock on wood he wont come home married tonight, though) right now!

So why don´t you all wish him a happy birthday huh!? ;)
