Late night show: Ghetto Gospel all over your ass

late night show

Sooo today Im going to hit you guys with a little ghetto gospel. And some fun trivia about the original Ghetto Gospel song.

Ghetto Gospel was originally released as the second single on his posthumous 2004 album Loyal to the Game. It features a sample from the Elton John track Indian Sunset from his Madman Across The Water album. The song was written by Tupac Shakur to separate any racial views at the time and produced by Eminem.

Ghetto Gospel was the only song on Loyal to the Game with an accompanying music video. At the very end of the video there is a message from his mother, Afeni Shakur, saying “Remember to keep yourself alive, there is nothing more important than that.”

how’s french house holding up..

.. NOT TO GOOD. It’s been a while since I first wrote about Louis La Roche. Since the last post some things have happened. But not as much as I want to. I am really surprised that so few take any interest in this guy, his first track did after all get confused for a Thomas Bangalter tune. Here is why this guy is cool you ignorant RnB obsessed jerks:

Louis La Roche  – Love download/listen

Aha – Hunting High And Low (Louis La Roche Remix) download/listen

Del Marquis – Runaround (Louis La Roche ‘In 1995′ Remix) download/listen

VV Brown – Shark In The Water (Louis La Roche Remix) download/listen

fuck Rn’B

Axwell Bauer+Friend

I’ve been listening to this track a few times now and realize this is some good stuff. I mean, this guy has been working with music his whole life but he hasn’t really produced anything until now. That being the case I must say this is pretty sweet for a rookie. It certanly have that progressive house feel to it that a real great progressive house track should have. One thing that I miss is a vocal. Add this and it would sound even better.

So here it is Axel Bauers first official track, Rouge.

you can also hit him up on myspace http://www.myspace.com/shouldermusic

[edit] Right as we speak Mr.Bauer is producing his next track. I’ve heard a preview and it sound just as good as this track. If not even better! Stay tuned…………………

classic video

this video is so cool. incredible that they pulled it off.

Chromeo did it again

In 2004 Needy Girl came out. The funky sound was completly new to me but yet so… so awesomely great. After that Chromeo has always had a special place in my heart.

The group (David Macklovitch and Patrick Gemayel) comes from Montreal, Canada and was formed 2002. Influnced by eighties disco and sententies funk they released the album She’s In Control in 2004. After great reviews and even videos on MTV it took them three years to create their next masterpiece, Fancy Footwork. This album was remixed by big names such as Etienne de Crezy, Laidback Luke and MSTRKRFT. Not to mention the king Philippe Zdar, the man behind the french artist Cassius, who made a great job mixing the album.

So now, 2009, Chromeo releases Night By Night with remixes by Skream and Siriusmo. Funny thing is that the original mix will work great on a dancefloor, Siriusmo remix you can drink a few beers to and Skream’s is a real laid back track for, say, relaxation…

All of these are made available for free on their labels website

its always Chiddy Bang in Philadelphia

chiddybang

A fairly new and unknown (to the masses) rap group from Philadelphia, United States. Chiddy Bang consists of four members and they describe their work as hip-hop/electronica. The group became popular when they sampled the song Kids by MGMT and added their [not awesome but still] catchy rap lyrics. After google-ing Chiddy Bang a while ago I found out that their actually in college and on top of that freshmans. Did some more research and found some of their other tracks and realized that these guy will probably go far with their happy hip-hop sound. I can definitely see wasted college kids playing beerpong and getting fucked up to their future tunes. Until then, here is some of their work that I recommend.

to jump start a dead blog

Ghosts N Stuff made Deadmau5 known to the avarage college dude in America. Before this he was more of an underground producer with way less fans then today. This fall Deadmau5 released the album For Lack Of A Better Name featuring this amazing remake with a vocal… Just listen to this. In a perfect world I would be married to the mau5 and this would play as we walked down the aisle. And he would also be a girl.

music that never goes out of style

alf

Hey brothaz. It has been a while since I wrote for latenightshow. I am currently stationed in California, USA and after being here a few months I have discovered how bad taste in music most Americans have. I figured I have to do something about it.

I summed up some of the tracks that has about a hundred plays in my itunes and uploaded them. Also these tracks are not neccessarily house. This is no longer a blog whos soul purpose is to distribute music from only one genre. From here on everything I like can wind up here.

We´re back!

It’s time to put the sinking ship back on top of the waves and set sail to a new land!
Now, music developes and evolves, and so do we have to do.
So latenightshow will be a lot different in the future. We will not let you
download music without permission from the artists. Instead we will
put all the focus on finding great music, new and old, which can inspire you
all to enhance your playlists and music archives. And now when there’s this
new invention called Spotify, well, then we can share music in a new way.
So the site will give you Spotify-links, youtube, streaming and links to
a lot of great music and links to where you can buy it. Hopefully there will
be some free MP3’s too, but that all depends upon the artists.

So start with I’ll bring you a MAGICAL Spotify playlist! A playlist I
choosed to call “Retro Heat” since a big deal of it is new music with a
retro 80’s touch. It’s a lot of electro, elektro pop, nu disco etc.

So enjoy!

Retro Heat! (Spotify Playlist)

And we hope to see you again very soon!
